Description:
The
mission of Habitat for Humanity of Indiana is to eliminate poverty housing
and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat
promotes home ownership by partnering with volunteers and families in need
to build houses.
Habitat
for Humanity of Indiana is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity
International, which was founded in 1976. Today, Habitat for Humanity
International has built more than 350,000 houses around the world, providing
more than 1.75 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent,
affordable shelter.
Currently we are seeking an Executive Director for the Indiana Organization,
located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Key
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Serve as liaison, advocate, and official representative of
Habitat Indiana to multiple state-wide government, housing, and development
associations.
·
In partnership with the Organization’s Board of Directors,
provide vision for, develop, and implement fundraising and resource
development including grant writing and administration, and managing grantor
relationships
·
Develop, implement, and manage state-wide resource programs to
assist local affiliates with increasing capacity
·
Develop and implement Organization-sponsored affiliate
training programs and conferences
·
Develop and manage Organization operating budget objectives
and procedures
·
Direct and manage marketing-related materials and media
relations for the Organization
·
Direct and manage the Organization’s resources including its
staff and office
Specific skills
include but are not limited to:
·
Fundraising and resource development
·
Grant writing, grant management, and business development
·
Knowledge of urban and rural affordable housing challenges and
opportunities, real estate development, construction, and finance as
specifically related to affordable housing
·
Experience in governmental relations and/ or lobbying
Requirements include but are not limited to:
·
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
required. Advanced degree desirable.
·
At least five years’ experience managing a small business or
non-profit organization or other applicable management experience.
·
Experience and demonstrated
success in business or grants development.
·
Flexibility to travel within
state as needed.
