Allen C. Steere Award

The Allen C. Steere Award  was established by Lincoln Financial Group at  the time the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana was organized in 1982.  Allen C. Steere was a Senior Vice President of The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company at the time of his retirement in 1973. A recognized leader of  governmental affairs at all levels of government, Allen was the first honorary  member of the Society.  Allen’s career, which spanned almost 40 years  with Lincoln National, represents the embodiment of the Society’s Statement of  Ethical Principles. He was a key role model for those Society members who  drafted this fundamental guide for those who were, are and will be members of  the Society. The award is presented from time to time as  determined by the Board of Governors to those members, or former members of the  Society who personify the standards of conduct contained in the Society’s  Statement of Ethical Principles.
